In the Moscow metro, a train car traveling from the Vorobyovy Gory to the Sportivnaya station of the Sokolnicheskaya line caught fire, telegram channel 112 reports.
“According to our data, from a part flew off the train and hit the pantograph, after which a short circuit occurred,” the channel writes, without specifying the source of information. The same data is provided by Ren-TV.
Moskovsky Komsomolets publishes an eyewitness account: “Then the train stopped, the lights went out and smoke immediately poured out. The driver opened the doors for us and we ran through the tunnel. It was very scary.”
A video filmed by passengers walking along the stretch is published. Five people are said to have been injured and are receiving medical assistance. At the same time, the Department of Transport reports that there were no injuries, and the cause was a “small technical malfunction.”

It is reported that ambulances have been called to neighboring stations, and traffic along the line has been suspended.
