MOSCOW, June 1 Mandatory labeling of juices, nectars, compotes and drinks made from plant materials began in Russia on June 1, 2024.
Before this, on December 1, 2023, labeling began for manufacturers and importers of soft drinks in glass and polymer packaging (except for juices, nectars, compotes and drinks made from plant materials), from March 1, 2024 — it affected manufacturers and importers of soft drinks in cans, including aluminum, also excluding juices, compotes, etc.
Now, labeling has become mandatory for manufacturers and importers of other non-alcoholic drinks in all types of packaging, including juices, nectars, compotes and drinks made from plant materials. From the same date, the mandatory transfer of information to the labeling system for the first shipment will begin — in the format of volumetric and grading accounting.
At the same time, the general director of Callisto Vision, a developer and integrator of labeling solutions and equipment, Pavel Bulgakov, in a conversation with, noted that all technical solutions for labeling juices have been tested in the labeling of sweet drinks and dairy products — either cardboard packaging is used for packaging this category of goods as for milk, or a bottle as for water or beer.
«There are no high speeds in the production of juices; the producers are the same as for soft drinks and water. Therefore, there will not be any technical difficulties here. They may appear later, when the entire traceability chain is built, but there is still quite a long way to go and there is time to prepare,” he concluded.
