ROSTOV-ON-DON, June 1. A new forest fire has broken out in the Tarasovsky district of the Rostov region on an area of 15 hectares, the press service of the Russian Emergencies Ministry reports.
«In the Rostov region, employees of the Russian Emergencies Ministry are extinguishing a new forest fire. At 15:15, information was received about a fire in the Efremovo-Stepanovsky district forestry in the Tarasovsky district,» the report says. There is no threat to populated areas.
The area of the fire is 15 hectares.
The Russian Emergencies Ministry's aviation has been called in to extinguish the fire. In total, more than 400 people and almost 120 pieces of equipment are involved in extinguishing the fire.
The forest litter caught fire in the Tarasovsky forestry on Friday evening, presumably due to a lightning strike. On Saturday, the fire was extinguished on an area of 169 hectares.
