MOSCOW, June 2 The most foreign ice cream in the first three months of 2024 came to Russia from Kazakhstan and South Korea — they accounted for almost 90% of all deliveries, it was found out by studying the platform data UN Comtrade and national statistical services.
According to available data, Kazakhstan remained the main supplier of delicacies to Russia in the first quarter of this year — its export volumes amounted to $2.3 million. Second place was taken by South Korea, from which $1.2 million worth of ice cream arrived. Thus, these two countries accounted for 88% of all Russian imports of the total $3.9 million in January-March. 
However, it is worth noting that Belarus, which stopped disclosing data two years ago, exported almost $2 million worth of ice cream to Russia in January-March 2022, becoming second only to France. Given such volumes, it could take a leading position this year as well.
Also among the importers of frozen dessert to the Russian Federation were Poland with export volumes of 182.8 thousand dollars, Estonia — 122.8 thousand, Italy — 92.2 thousand and Belgium — 56, 8 thousand.
At the same time, the only countries that increased their ice cream exports were South Korea (by 76%) and Estonia (699 times), and Poland increased it from zero. The rest of the countries reduced the supply of delicacies, most of all — Italy (by 28%) and Belgium (by 14%). There were none from Lithuania, the USA, Spain, Belgium and Armenia at all, unlike last year. At the same time, France, which ranked first in supplies in the first quarter of 2022, completely stopped them in May of the same year.
At the end of 2023, Russia imported the most cold delicacies from Kazakhstan ($11.4 million), South Korea (4.1 million), Italy (1.4 million), Lithuania ($478.8 thousand) and Belgium (434 thousand).
