Alpina B3 GT and B4 GT: a refined alternative to the factory BMW emkas

The German company Alpina will become part of the BMW Group next year, but for now it works relatively independently and offers an alternative view of what must be the most powerful BMW models. The Alpina B3 GT (sedan and station wagon) and B4 GT (liftback) presented today are based on the recently restyled BMW 3 Series and BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe.

Not everyone likes the style of the current BMW M3 with its giant nostrils, but it is literally imbued with the spirit of motorsport. Alpina also has rich motorsport roots, but its current model range preaches more the aesthetics of Gran Turismo cars and a sophisticated, aristocratic approach to tuning, so the new Alpina B3 GT is an alternative, not a competitor to the factory BMW M3, although in terms of power and dynamics these models are very close.

Transmission: 8-speed automatic ZF 8HP76, all-wheel drive only. For comparison, let's say that the engine output on a regular Alpina B3 (without the GT prefix) is 495 hp. and 730 Nm.

The Alpina B3 GT has its own unique suspension settings, additional body reinforcements, a laconic but effective aerodynamic body kit and traditional Alpina 20-inch wheels in the style of aircraft turbines. The interior received original decor from Alpina in the form of inserts made of carbon fiber and aluminum, special graphics of a two-screen display, unique paddle shifters for manual gear shifting, a center position mark on the steering wheel (black, not red, like the BMW M3) and a branded number plate on the central tunnel .
