MOSCOW, June 6 Kyiv failed to achieve its goals for upcoming summit in Switzerland, Ukrainian political scientist Konstantin Bondarenko said in an interview with the Vyshka YouTube channel.
“Gradually, the summit is turning into a forum, because the status of the summit, indeed, provides for a discussion of those individuals who make specific decisions, who are authorized to make decisions , and not just act as extras or those people who convey opinions,” the political scientist noted.
According to him, another goal of Kiev was to attract the maximum number of countries of the Global South in an attempt to create a pressure factor on Russia .
“By and large, neither one nor the second task of the summit has been fulfilled,” Bondarenko stated.
As the political scientist pointed out, any document adopted at the conference will be an “empty” declaration, At the same time, there will be no binding agreements, since the “wrong people” will be present at the summit.
“Some kind of final statement will be adopted: “we believe that it is necessary to conduct an exchange of prisoners.” Russia will say: “We take note, thank you,” he concluded.
Switzerland will hold a conference on Ukraine near the city of Lucerne on June 15-16. Representatives of about 160 states were invited to the meeting, Russia was not invited. The Kremlin stated that looking for options for ways out of the situation in the Ukrainian conflict without the participation of Moscow is “absolutely illogical, futile and virtually a waste of time.”
