On June 8-9, the 3rd stage will be held in Kazan at the KazanRing Canyon circuit RDS Europe 2024.
It would seem that only recently the season opened, but already Its third stage is coming, which will take place on the incredibly spectacular KazanRing Canyon track in the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Many motorsport fans have probably come to mind with the association with the American track Laguna Seca, known for its famous “Corkscrew” series of turns. We have a track no worse, and very soon the RDS Europe pilots will take to it to show their ability to cope with extremely powerful cars in the most difficult conditions.
The elevation difference on the route is about 30 meters. An interesting moment in the production is when the racers fly up a small hill at high speed, and then begin to control the drift car in a skid through a series of turns on the descent. Introduced? It takes your breath away, just like being on a carousel as a child. Only the racers have no time for fun. The extensive gravel traps are always ready to accommodate anyone who makes a mistake.
On Saturday, June 8, a qualification will take place, based on the results of which the grid of pairs races for June 9 will be determined.
The current winner of the Kazan stage of RDS Europe is Carville Racing team driver Alexey Kozlov, who is preparing to compete this time as well . Other drivers from last year’s podium, Ilya Fedorov and Timofey Dobrovolsky, are also preparing for the races.
After two stages in the personal competition of the PRO group, the table is headed by the pilot of the LUKOIL Racing Drift Team Grigory Gusev (407 points), followed by Ivan Palmin (342 points) and Leonid Schneider (284 points). In the NXT standings, Alexey Bakhvalov is in first place (533 points), followed by Valery Nikulin (359 points), and Ivan Sedykh (279 points) in third place.
