PYATIGORSK, June 7 Elections of the governor of the Stavropol Territory will be held on September 8, the corresponding decision was made on Friday by deputies of the regional Duma at an extraordinary meeting of parliament.
“In accordance with federal legislation and the legislation of the Stavropol Territory, the expiration date of the term for which the governor of the Stavropol Territory was elected, and the voting day in the election of the head of the Stavropol Territory, is the second Sunday of September of the current year (September 8 — ed.), on which the term expires his powers,” the press service of the regional parliament quotes the words of the Chairman of the Stavropol Duma Nikolai Velikdan.
The previous elections for governor of the Stavropol Territory were held on a single voting day on September 8, 2019. According to the voting results, the current head of the region, Vladimir Vladimirov, was supported by 79.65% of voters, their turnout was 66.89%.
