One of the girls had serious injuries and was airlifted by rescuers to Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Florida, ABC News reported.
Walton County beaches where both attacks occurred were closed Friday afternoon due to the high number of shark injuries.
“Double red flags are now flying at area beaches,” the Walton County Sheriff's Office posted on social media Friday. – The bay is currently closed to the public in Walton County in the area where the incident occurred. The latest shark attacks come days after a 46-year-old man was bitten by one of the marine predators on Del Mar Beach in Southern California on Sunday. The man suffered serious injuries after the collision, but were not considered life-threatening.
