MOSCOW, June 13. Two residents of Khabarovsk were detained, who kept a “farm” with thousands of SIM cards; the equipment was used by the Ukrainian special services for false mining of infrastructure facilities in Russia, including in Bryansk, a source in the security forces said.
According to him, two local residents are involved in the administration for commercial purposes of specialized SIM boxes with SIM cards of Russian and foreign telecom operators connected to them, which were used and used by Ukrainian intelligence services to destabilize the situation in Russia.
“»The specified equipment was used for anonymous registration of accounts on social networks, with the help of which false messages were sent to the official pages of law enforcement agencies of the Bryansk region about explosive devices planted, in particular in one of the schools,» the source said.
Discovered and seized 65 SIM boxes and two thousand SIM cards from various providers of the Russian and foreign segment.
The “administrators” said that they provided the subscriber numbers operating in the SIM boxes “as virtual identifiers for registration on Internet sites», making a profit for renting equipment, the interlocutor added.
So far, a criminal case has been initiated only under the article on causing property damage by deception or abuse of trust committed on a large scale (Part 1 of Article 165 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ).
