The duties of the head of the Higher Attestation Commission are assigned to academician Vladislav Panchenko
A new chairman has been appointed to the Higher Attestation Commission (HAC). This was the Vice-President of the Russian Academy of Sciences, academician Vladislav Panchenko. The corresponding changes to the Government order dated April 22, 2022 were made by the Government of the Russian Federation on Thursday, June 13.

The order to change the composition of the Higher Attestation Commission was signed on Thursday by the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin.
It states that the Higher Attestation Commission under the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia and its presidium included the vice-rector for scientific work of the Volga State Technological University (PGTU), corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Dmitry Ivanov as the scientific secretary of the commission.
Responsibilities The chairman of the commission is entrusted to the Vice-President of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Vladislav Panchenko, who previously served as Deputy Chairman of the Higher Attestation Commission. As for his predecessor in this post – Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor Vladimir Filippov, he was transferred to a member of the commission.
We would like to remind you that these changes were made in accordance with the instructions of President Vladimir Putin dated May 6, 2024. The Government of the Russian Federation should take measures “to ensure the implementation of the leadership of the Higher Attestation Commission by the Russian Academy of Sciences.” At the same time, the Higher Attestation Commission still remains under the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, and the RAS is assigned only “general management of activities.” The head of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Gennady Krasnikov, previously said that the position of chairman will soon be taken by one of the vice-presidents of the Academy of Sciences.
