MURMANSK, June 15 Members of the Murmansk election commission The regions decided that the elections of the head of the region will be held within two days — September 7 and 8 this year, and it will also be possible to cast a vote remotely, according to the commission’s Telegram channel.
«At a meeting of the regional election commission, a decision was made to hold voting in the elections for the governor of the Murmansk region and combined elections for two consecutive days on September 7 and 8, 2024,» the message says.

It is noted that, in agreement with the Central Election Commission of Russia, it was determined that remote electronic voting will be held in the elections on September 7 and 8 in the Murmansk region. In September, in addition to the gubernatorial elections, additional elections will be held for a deputy of the Murmansk Regional Duma in the Olenegorsk single-mandate electoral district No. 15.

So far, three people are vying for the post of governor of the Murmansk region, who have submitted documents to the regional election commission — this is the current head Andrey Chibis, Yuri Klimchenko from the “Russian Party of Pensioners for Social Justice” and Stanislav Gontar from the LDPR party — the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia.
