SOCHI, June 17 Vice-Governor of Krasnodar Krai Andrei Proshunin has become acting head of Sochi, the press service of the regional administration reports.
In mid-May, the regional administration announced the resignation of Mayor Alexei Kopaigorodsky due to a transfer to a new job. The Sochi City Assembly has scheduled a competition for the vacant post for July 3.
«Andrei Proshunin has assumed his duties as the head of Sochi. He has been appointed first deputy mayor of the resort city. At a planning meeting at the Sochi City Hall, Vice Governor Alexander Topalov introduced Andrei Proshunin to the city assembly deputies and administration employees,» the statement said.
According to Topalov, Proshunin was given priority tasks, which included issues related to the construction and repair of treatment facilities, the reconstruction of storm sewers, water supply and sanitation networks.
On December 5, 2022, Proshunin was appointed to the post of vice-governor of the region, overseeing the ministries of the fuel and energy complex and housing and communal services, road management, and the department of state regulation of tariffs.
