A criminal case was opened against TV presenter Tatyana Lazareva for justifying terrorism on the Internet (Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code). This follows from the response of the Moscow department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which was received by State Duma deputy from Yekaterinburg Andrei Alshevskikh.
Alshevskikh himself previously wrote a denunciation to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and asked to check the TV presenter because of her statements about Ukrainian drone strikes on Russian territory.
The deputy published the department’s response in his Telegram channel, comparing Lazareva with the “war criminal Antonina Makarova,” known as Tonka the Machine Gunner.
“It took the state security agencies thirty years to find the punisher after the war,” writes Alshevskikh. He cited the article “The Fall” about Makarova, which was published in 1979 in the newspaper Pravda. “For me, Tatyana Lazareva and other “collaborators” molded from the same dough. We will also hold them accountable for what they did,” the deputy concluded.
Lazareva herself recorded a video on her Telegram channel, which she began with the words: “Greetings to you now also from a terrorist, from a terrorist.” “It’s useless to discuss all this and pay attention, because I can’t do anything about it, really now you can do anything and appoint you as anyone,” Lazareva said and continued to talk about helping Ukrainian children affected by the war.
Lazareva lives abroad and actively opposes the war in Ukraine. On June 13, the Ministry of Internal Affairs put the TV presenter on the wanted list — then it was not known under what article the case was opened against her.
In the summer of 2022, the Ministry of Justice declared Lazareva a “foreign agent,” indicating Ukraine as the source of her funding. This April, State Duma deputy Elena Yampolskaya wrote a denunciation to the Prosecutor General’s Office demanding that they check the “activities” of the TV presenter.
