In “old world” markets, the four-door is presented with a non-alternative 1.3 TCe petrol turbo engine, but you can choose a gearbox. It was announced that the model complies with new European safety standards.
Three years ago, Renault introduced the serial electric cross-hatch Megane E-Tech Electric. It was believed that in Europe this model would eventually completely replace the “traditional” Megane family. The “hydrocarbon” hatchback and station wagon have already left most markets: according to French media, their production in Spain finally ended in the spring of 2024. But the production of the Renault Megane sedan with an internal combustion engine continues — the main site is located in Turkey. The main habitat for the four-door remains the Middle East; the Megan sedan is also represented in Africa. The list also included some “old world” countries – mainly from Eastern Europe. But then the four-door was removed from most European showrooms. So now it has been announced that the sedan will return to the Old World: in particular, sales have been resumed in the Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia since June. Moreover, the model there bears the name Renault Megane GrandCoupe.

Europeans are offered a 4.6-meter long sedan with a single engine – a 1.3 TCe petrol turbo-four with a power of 140 hp, without any electric add-on. Let us remind you that the five-door cars intended for Europe had hybrid versions. The engine is paired with a six-speed manual or seven-speed robotic gearbox with two clutches.
In the current model year, the Renault Megane GrandCoupe has only two trim levels – Evolution and Techno. It is reported that the four-door meets stricter EU safety standards. This means that the base includes adaptive cruise control, auto braking systems (with pedestrian detection), lane marking monitoring, road sign recognition and driver condition monitoring.
