The basic 1.5 turbo engine has been transferred from the previous “six”, but the power of the 2.0T engine has been increased, plus it has a new robotic gearbox.
The public premiere of the transformed Haval H6 took place in April at the Beijing Auto Show. In the spring, the brand opened pre-orders in its home country. And now in China, the price list has been published and sales have started. Haval itself considers this crossover to be a new generation, that is, the fourth in a row. However, in reality, we have before us a restyled version of the third-generation SUV, which has been produced since 2020. Moreover, the “six” has not changed as expected. The fact is that the brand announced the modernized “third” H6 back in 2023, and then the crossover had a completely different “face” — in the style of the Haval Xiaolong and Xiaolong Max models. And even earlier, photos of an SUV with a traditional body, but with a front end like the coupe-like Haval H6S, were added to the database of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the PRC.

Be that as it may, the Haval H6 has a new radiator grille with massive plates instead of a mesh. The headlights retained their shape, while vertical sections of running lights were attached to them. The taillights are new, they are made separate. Bumpers also became different. The length of the Haval H6 has increased by 50 mm to 4703 mm, the remaining dimensions have not changed: width – 1886 mm, height – 1730 mm, wheelbase – 2738 mm. Trunk volume – 560 liters.

A new steering wheel and a central tunnel have appeared in the cabin (but it is still two-story), the transmission is now controlled by the steering column lever. The Haval H6 also received a different multimedia system — with a 14.6-inch tablet instead of a 12.3-inch screen. There is no longer a separate row of physical keys responsible for climate control and other functions: all settings have been moved to the touchscreen.

The base engine is the same as the current “third” Haval H6: it is a 1.5 petrol turbo-four with a power of 184 hp. (275 Nm), it is paired with a seven-speed robotic gearbox with two clutches. But the output of the 2.0 turbo engine was increased from 211 hp. and 325 Nm to 238 hp. and 385 Nm. In addition, the two-liter engine is now combined with a nine-speed “robot” (the predecessor had 7DCT). All-wheel drive is available for Haval H6 c 2.0T. Let us remind you that the previous “six” still has hybrid versions, but the new cross is presented exclusively with an internal combustion engine.
At the moment, the new Haval H6 is available in five versions. The base includes LED optics, 19-inch wheels, a panoramic sunroof, a 10.25-inch virtual instrument cluster, the aforementioned multimedia with a large tablet, single-zone climate control, all-round cameras and cruise control. Starting with the second-oldest configuration, a head-up display, heated front seats, an electric tailgate, dual-zone climate control, adaptive cruise, auto-braking and lane-keeping systems appear. The top-end H6 with 1.5T also features front seat ventilation and a face recognition system. It is curious that for some reason models with 2.0T ventilated seats are offered only as an option, and a crossover with a two-liter engine will not be able to recognize the driver even for an additional fee.

The price of the new Haval H6 varies from 117,900 to 143,900 yuan, which is equivalent to approximately 1.3 million — 1.6 million rubles at the current exchange rate. The pre-reform “third” SUV is not going to retire yet; it costs from 115,900 yuan (1,294,000 rubles). And in China, the “second” Haval H6 is still in service, its price starts at 98,900 yuan (1.1 million rubles).
The “six” is not officially sold in Russia. Meanwhile, the brand has not left our market without premieres: the restyled Haval Jolion and the new Haval H3 crossover have already launched in the Russian Federation, plus the second-generation Haval H9 SUV is on the way.
