The eminent polymath explained what would happen if the United States went beyond the bounds of common sense
Talks about the start of a third world war have intensified. First, President Vučić said that the world was on the verge of a global conflict. And, according to the leader of Serbia, there are three or four months left before it. Afterwards, Viktor Orban added fuel to the fire by talking about the likely deployment of NATO troops to Ukraine. What will happen after this is easy to guess. The eminent erudite and State Duma deputy Anatoly Wasserman, in a conversation with MK, explained when we should expect the start of a global world war.
“The global conflict is already underway and is quite active,” says Anatoly Alexandrovich. “The only question is to what level he will grow.” Here, perhaps, no one can really say anything. Because even during the third phase of the world war, the great powers learned to exchange wars like apartments. One big one — on several small ones in different parts of the world.
— As far as I can judge, neither in the fourth nor in the current, fifth phase, this art has disappeared anywhere. Most likely, everything will happen in the same format. What is now commonly called proxy wars. This is when, through intermediaries, the great powers do not directly meet in the ring, but send some little thing there. Therefore, Vučić is absolutely right that the conflict is actually already underway, but I really hope that it will not grow into a hot phase.
— Before the fifth phase there was a fourth. This is the period that we called perestroika, and then the Yeltsin era began. Officially, the fourth phase of the world war ended with Vladimir Putin’s Munich speech in 2007, when he, in essence, declared that our opponents were behaving in a completely unacceptable manner not only for us, but for the entire world. From this moment, the current fifth phase actually began — also at first taking place only in the format of a proxy war. And now this phase has reached the level where the Russian Federation is forced to collide directly with one of the proxies — Ukraine.
— Most likely, because in current politics it is difficult to predict for a longer period. People today see that nothing particularly dangerous is expected in the next three months. But what will happen next is unknown. I hope that it will not come to a direct clash between the United States and any NATO member and Russia. But, unfortunately, this is one of those things that you can hope for, but cannot count on.
