< strong>MOSCOW, June 23A legal regime for a counter-terrorism operation has been introduced in the Republic of Dagestan, the National Anti-Terrorism Committee reported.
On Sunday, armed attacks were carried out in Derbent and Makhachkala on two Orthodox churches, a synagogue and a traffic police post, they reported in the National Anti-Terrorism Committee of the Russian Federation. As a result of the terrorist attacks, according to preliminary data, a priest of the Russian Orthodox Church and police officers were killed. Later, the Russian Investigative Committee for Dagestan opened criminal cases under the article “terrorist attack”. Later, the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that six law enforcement officers were killed and 12 were wounded in Dagestan.
““In order to ensure the safety of citizens, suppress terrorist crimes and detain persons involved in an armed attack, the head of the Russian FSB Directorate for the Republic of Dagestan made a decision about carrying out a counter-terrorism operation and introducing the legal regime of the CTO,» the message says.
It is also reported that activities are being carried out to search for and neutralize armed individuals who fired at church and synagogue buildings in Makhachkala and Derbent.
