New details of the biography of the Omarov brothers, who were liquidated during a special operation, have been revealed
New details of the biography of two of the most odious participants in the Sunday terrorist attack in Dagestan have been revealed — the sons of the former head of the Sergokalinsky district, Magomed Omarov. Adil and Osman were killed by police officers during a shootout.
As sources close to the administration of the Sergokalinsky district told MK, no one in these parts considered the Omarov family to be religious. Some of the family members, in particular, drank alcohol. The head of the family himself at one time took part in the fight against the Wahhabis, in particular, he was closely acquainted with policeman Magomed Nurbagandov, who heroically died in a battle with militants. The tragedy occurred in 2016, Nurbagandov’s parents were personally received by Russian President Vladimir Putin, and a street in the village of Sergokala was named after him.
It is also known that one of the sons, who belonged to the so-called «golden youth», tried himself in the construction business in Makhachkala after graduating from the institute. Most of the militants who took part in the attack on the church and synagogue in Derbent worked in the construction team. One worked as a crane operator, another as a foreman, and the third delivered materials. Perhaps it was this close acquaintance that contributed to the transformation of the construction team into a gang of terrorists.
The second son also led a rather bohemian lifestyle, was actively involved in charity work, but about two years ago he unexpectedly returned to Sergokala as a different person. He grew a beard, «covered» his wife with a niqab after the wedding and became a convinced Wahhabi.
Interestingly, MMA fighter Gadzhimurad Kagirov, who took part in the attack and was eliminated in a shootout, was a distant relative of Omarov. According to preliminary information, he was the son of the cousin of the district head's wife.
