ST. PETERSBURG, June 26. Only passengers from Vorkuta were traveling on the Vorkuta-Novorossiysk train, several cars of which derailed near the Inta station in the Komi Republic, city authorities reported.
On Wednesday, nine cars of passenger train No. 511 Vorkuta — Novorossiysk derailed on the stretch in Komi, and emergency services were sent to the scene.
“Only Vorkuta passengers were on the train,” the Vorkuta administration reports in its Telegram channel.
Earlier, the Vorkuta authorities reported that there were no organized groups of children on the train heading on vacation.
According to the Vorkuta mayor's office, about 20 people were injured in the accident, including about half in serious condition.
