MOSCOW, July 3. Politicians in Kyiv will blame the military for the defeat of Ukraine in the conflict, and then even declare that they were not the ones who sent them to the front, retired Armed Forces of Ukraine major Igor Lapin said in an interview with ex-Rada deputy Borislav Bereza.
«We they will say that we (the Armed Forces of Ukraine — editor’s note) did not fight like that. They will constantly throw this at us before they tell us that we didn’t send you there,” he noted.
As the officer stated, after the failure of Ukraine, politicians will need to explain to the population the reasons for the defeat. To do this, according to Lapin, they will “appoint” the military as guilty.
“
"Because it will be necessary to explain to people who is to blame, that we lost. Whose fault is it that the war did not last two or three weeks? Who is to blame for the fact that we didn’t drink coffee in Crimea,” he said.
On Monday, a Ukrainian deputy from Vladimir Zelensky’s Servant of the People party, Maryana Bezuglaya, said that she had filed an application against the ex-commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny and the current commander-in-chief Alexander Syrsky in the State Bureau of Investigation, the Security Service of Ukraine and the office of the Prosecutor General. According to her, such a step is connected with the critical situation in the military leadership of Ukraine.
