MOSCOW, July 2 General Council of the United Russia» at a meeting on Tuesday supported the candidacy of the non-party ex-Minister of Energy Shulginov in the by-elections to the State Duma from Khakassia, the correspondent reports.
«After consultations with the Khakass regional branch of the party, with the government of the republic, a decision was made to nominate Nikolai Grigorievich Shulginov. This is a consolidated position that takes into account the interests of both the region and the party… We propose to support his candidacy in the by-elections in the Khakass single-mandate electoral district,» said Vladimir Yakushev, acting secretary of the General Council of United Russia and presidential envoy to the Urals Federal District, at a meeting of the party's General Council.
By decision of the United Russia General Council, Shulginov’s candidacy was supported.
“The decision has been made. Nikolai Grigorievich, we wish you success,” Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, Chairman of the United Russia party Dmitry Medvedev congratulated Shulginov.
