To compile a report on the situation on the Russian market, the Autostat agency uses data on state registration of new cars in the Russian Federation: this approach makes it possible to take into account in statistics both those copies that were officially sold by dealers and those that were imported into the country under the parallel import scheme ( was legalized in 2022). According to the latest monthly report, a total of 124,394 new passenger cars were sold in the country in June this year, an increase of 50.9% compared to the same month in 2023. However, compared to May 2024, a decline of 2.2% was recorded. By the way, sales have been gradually declining since April; The peak this year was March, when 150,640 new cars were registered with the state.

The top ten most popular brands in the Russian Federation did not change over the month: all participating brands even remained in their places. Topping the list is the Russian Lada, which occupies 43.8% of the local automobile market. One of its bestsellers, the “classic” SUV Niva Legend, left the TOP 10 best-selling models in the country. “Gold” is still held by Granta (market share – 12.9%), “silver” by Vesta (9.3%), and the Niva Travel SUV (2.8%) is in ninth place. The most popular foreign brand in June remained Chinese Haval (share on the Russian market — 12.2%). Its bestseller remains the Jolion SUV, which is produced at a plant in the Tula region (share — 5.6%). In third place among brands is the Celestial Chery, occupying 10.9% in the Russian Federation. The top ten models from it included crossovers Tiggo 7 Pro Max (share — 4.4%, 4th place) and Tiggo 4 Pro (3.9%, 5th place).
In fourth place among the brands is the Chinese Geely, its share in the Russian market is 8.9%. Last month, the Monjaro crossover returned to the TOP 10 bestsellers (in seventh place), although it was absent in May; its share in the Russian Federation is 3.2%. Rounding out the top five is another Chinese brand — Changan (8.1%), which put the CS 55 Plus SUV on the list of popular cars (also 3.2%).
One of the sub-brands is in sixth position in the list of brands Chery — Omoda (share — 4.1%), in the top ten models in eighth place is its SUV with the C5 index (2.9%). The second sub-brand of Chery — this time Exeed — is in seventh place, it occupies 2.6% of the Russian market.
