MOSCOW, July 4. Russia has enough grain, sugar, meat, fish, and vegetable oil to meet its own needs and supplies abroad, said Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
«Grain, meat, sugar, fish, vegetable oil “All this is enough for us and for supplies to partners abroad,” Mishustin said at a government meeting on Thursday.
He noted an increase in the harvest of vegetables and fruits in the country.
«The harvest of vegetables, potatoes, and fruits has noticeably increased. We are currently recording growth of about 11 percent,» the head of the Cabinet said.
According to him, logistics capacities are also growing, which can simultaneously accept hundreds of thousands of tons of such agricultural products for storage. He added that in 2023, 49 new and reconstructed beef cattle breeding facilities and over 170 dairy farms and complexes were put into operation.
“And, very importantly, they also increased…processing of raw milk,” Mishustin specified.
Farmers continue to receive support through the leasing of agricultural machinery and preferential loans for its purchase, which ensured the supply of almost 17 thousand tractors and combines. In addition, the agricultural insurance system is being developed; last year, 69 regions of the country took part in it, the head of the Cabinet noted.
“This will allow producers to reduce costs, including those arising as a result of emergency situations,” explained Mishustin.
