MOSCOW, July 3 Deputy Chairman of the Central Election Commission Nikolay Bulaev spoke about the reasons for updating the electronic voting procedure; in Moscow, more than 80% preferred the electronic format.
«In 2023, in the Moscow mayoral elections, more than 80% of voters preferred the electronic voting format, which also confirms the objective demand of society for further digitalization of the electoral process,» Bulaev said at a meeting of the Central Election Commission.
According to the deputy chairman of the Central Election Commission, the popularity of remote electronic voting is growing. He added that about 8 million ballots are printed in Moscow, while more than 80% vote remotely, and after voting, unused ballots are disposed of — more than 30 tons.
