In Dagestan, more than 70 thousand people were left without electricity. The reason was a short circuit at a local electrical substation, RIA Novosti writes about this.
The emergency occurred in Khasavyurt. According to the local mayor's office, «as a result of an emergency situation» a transformer with a capacity of 25 MVA was shorted out. Two power transformers switched off at the same time.
Judging by the video that appeared on social networks, immediately after the short circuit a fire started at the substation. The power outage zone included Khasavyurt and settlements in the Khasavyurt and Novolaksky districts.
