Security forces detained political strategist Vitaly Shushkevich, who is participating in the campaign of an anti-war candidate for the Moscow City Duma

Political strategist Vitaly Shushkevich has been detained in Moscow. Lawyer Natalya Tikhonova told OVD-Info that a report on disobeying security forces (Article 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) will be drawn up against him and he will be kept at the police station until trial.

Shushkevich is participating in the campaign of Maxim Kruglov, a candidate for the Moscow City Duma from the Yabloko party. At about nine o'clock in the morning, a fire alarm went off in the business center where the election headquarters is located. When the political strategist and his colleagues left the building, two officers from the Second Special Regiment of the Main Directorate of Internal Affairs of Moscow approached him. The security forces checked Shushkevich's documents, twisted his arms behind his back and took him away in an unknown direction.

In the evening, it became known that the detainee was taken to the police department for the Maryina Roshcha district. A report has not yet been drawn up against him. Presumably, the administrative case of Shushkevich will be heard on Monday by the Ostankino District Court of Moscow.

Maksim Kruglov is running for the Moscow City Duma under the slogan «For peace and freedom! For a ceasefire agreement!» Tomorrow, July 7, is the last day when the candidate's headquarters can bring the 5,600 signatures required for registration to the election commission.
