RYAZAN, July 7 Five people, including a child, died in a collision between two cars in the Ryazan region, the regional traffic police department reported.
“In the Ryazan region, police officers are establishing the circumstances of an accident that resulted in the death of five people,” reads a message on the Telegram channel of the region’s State Traffic Inspectorate. 
It is specified that the accident occurred at 22.30 on Saturday (coinciding with Moscow time) on the 331st kilometer of the R-22 Caspian highway in the Ryazhsky district of the Ryazan region. Chevrolet Niva and Lada collided.
«As a result of the accident, five people died, including one minor aged nine years. Another 15-year-old passenger with injuries of varying severity was taken to a medical facility,» notes State Traffic Safety Inspectorate.
As the regional prosecutor's office reported in its Telegram channel, the progress of the investigation of the criminal case initiated under Part 5 of Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of traffic rules and operation of vehicles) is being monitored by the district prosecutor's office.
