ROSTOV-ON-DON, July 7Firefighters eliminated open burning of dry vegetation in the Astrakhan region in the area of the Astrakhan gas processing plant, reports the Russian State Emergency Situations Directorate for the region.
Dry vegetation caught fire over an area of 5 thousand square meters in the sanitary protection zone of a gas processing plant in Astrakhan on Sunday evening. The fire was later contained.
“»At 21.54 (20.54 Moscow time) the fire was declared to be extinguished by open burning,» the message says.
12 pieces of equipment and 35 personnel are involved in the fire extinguishing effort.
