The FSB Directorate for the Zabaikalsky Krai reported the detention of a member of the Artpodgotovka movement. The department's press release was cited by TASS and Interfax.
A criminal case was opened against the man for participating in the activities of a terrorist organization (Part 2 of Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code). This article provides for up to 20 years in prison. The FSB did not specify when exactly the Zabaikalsky resident was detained.
According to the department, the detainee distributed materials «discrediting» the Russian army and authorities and «called for a violent change in the foundations of the constitutional order.»
The special service called the publication of posts on the Internet «psychological actions.» According to the department, the man carried them out «on the instructions of foreign curators.» The Telegram channel «Operativnye Sudovki» published a video of a man being detained in a field. In the following footage, he is taken to the courtroom.
The YouTube channel «Artpodgotovka» was created by Saratov politician Vyacheslav Maltsev, who ran for the State Duma elections in 2016. Maltsev spoke about the planned «peaceful revolution» and named its exact date — November 5, 2017. On this day, about 450 people were detained throughout the country. Dozens of Maltsev's alleged followers became defendants in criminal cases. He himself left Russia.
Ten days before the appointed date of the «revolution», the court declared «Artpodgotovka» «extremist». In 2021, the FSB singled out on the basis of the movement «a community created by Maltsev V.V. from among the participants of the Interregional Public Movement «Artpodgotovka»» and added it to the list of terrorist organizations.
