TYNDA (Amur Region), July 9Russian Railways plan to invest about 360 billion rubles in the development of the Eastern range, which includes the BAM and Trans-Siberian Railways, in 2025, reported Deputy General Director of the company Andrei Makarov to journalists.
He recalled that Russian Railways will invest 360 billion rubles in the Eastern training ground in 2024: 336 billion in the second stage of construction with the completion of facilities and 24 billion rubles in the design of facilities in the third stage. 
“I think it will be comparable to this year, because in parallel it will be necessary to complete the second stage, electrification work there will be in full swing, and in parallel we will begin the activities of the third stage,” he answered about plans for investment in the Eastern training ground in 2025
He recalled that the Eastern training ground is being built at the expense of Russian Railways and investing, in particular, funds from the National Wealth Fund in it is not yet planned.
Russian Railways is currently implementing the second stage of development of the Eastern range, which includes the BAM and the Trans-Siberian Railway, worth 1.1 trillion rubles. It is designed until the end of 2024 and provides for an increase in carrying capacity to 180 million tons (in 2023 — 173 million tons).
Russian Railways is carrying out pre-design work on the third stage. The Russian government approved its launch in the spring of 2024. The cost of the third stage of development of the Eastern landfill until 2035 with an increase in carrying capacity to 270 million tons is estimated at 3.7 trillion rubles.
