Putin and Modi will work out a free trade agreement between the EAEU and India

MOSCOW, July 9 Russian President Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi instructed to study the issue negotiations on signing a free trade agreement between the EAEU and India, a joint statement following the XXII Russian-Indian annual summit “Russia-India: a strong and expanding partnership” was published on the Kremlin website.
«In order to eliminate tariff and non-tariff barriers to trade, including protectionist measures and administrative barriers, the parties highly appreciated the preliminary consultations held in March 2024 to discuss full-format negotiations on concluding a free trade agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union and Republic of India. The leaders instructed the relevant departments to explore the possibility of negotiating a bilateral agreement on free trade in services and investments,” the statement said.
