BELGOROD, July 10. The number of those wounded as a result of shelling by the Ukrainian Armed Forces of the city of Shebekino in the Belgorod region has increased to nine, said the governor of the region, Vyacheslav Gladkov.
On Wednesday afternoon, the governor reported that the city of Shebekino had come under fire from Ukraine. One person was killed and seven civilians were injured: six men and one woman. They are hospitalized.
“Together with the head of the Shebekinsky urban district, Vladimir Nikolaevich Zhdanov, I went to the scene of another shelling of the municipal center. According to updated information, unfortunately, the number of wounded after the shelling of the city of Shebekino increased to nine. A man and his 12-year-old son, who were injured in parking lot as a result of a shell hitting a nearby car. Both received shrapnel wounds in the lumbar region. After medical care was provided, the man was released home for outpatient treatment, the child is being prepared for transportation to the children’s regional clinical hospital,” Gladkov wrote in his Telegram channel.
The governor added that there was a lot of destruction in the city, a large number of damaged cars. The services have already started taking measurements, and it is planned to begin replacing double-glazed windows within a week.
«We talked with the owners of the damaged stores. Of course, it is necessary to put up barriers everywhere at the entrance: either from concrete blocks or from sandbags. Experience has shown that this makes it possible to protect people from shell fragments and glass that fly apart during explosions,” said the head of the region.
