In June, doctors diagnosed botulism in 417 people in 11 regions, said the head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova at a meeting of the State Duma Committee on Health Protection, her words were quoted by Interfax .
According to Popova, such a level of morbidity has not been seen in the country since the mid-1990s. As of July 8, 41 people with signs of botulism remained in hospitals, ten of them in intensive care.
Popova also spoke about the completion of the epidemiological investigation. It showed that the cause of the disease was “violation of all rules and technologies for preparing salads.” The poisoning was caused by the same pathogen, added the head of Rospotrebnadzor.
Since June 11, more than a hundred people who ordered food from delivery services have turned to Moscow hospitals with symptoms of poisoning. Later it became known about the same cases in Kazan and Nizhny Novgorod. Two people died. The Investigative Committee opened a case under the article on the provision of services that do not meet safety requirements (clause “a” of Part 2 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code).
Previously, Rospotrebnadzor identified the cause of botulism as lobio salad from “Kitchen on the District”, as well as salad with tuna, beans and apple from the manufacturer “Gastroport”, which operates under the Take eat easy brand and supplies ready-made food to supermarkets. On June 28, a court in Moscow suspended the work of Kitchen in the District for 90 days due to the continuation of an epidemiological study of the products.
On June 19, the Zamoskvoretsky court placed under house arrest the general director of “Kitchen on the District” Anton Lozin, the head of the service quality department Elena Mashkova and the commercial director of the bean supplier company “Savon-K” Vladimir Shin.

According to investigators, Normatov, “on the instructions of the actual head” of the company, Vladimir Shin, prepared and packaged beans in vacuum packaging in violation of safety requirements.
