In early May, two unrelated sources reported that Fernandez could retire after the end of the 2023/24 season. According to one of the agency’s interlocutors, the club will be ready to continue cooperation with the player if he decides not to retire from football.
““Fernandez is still recovering, a decision on his future will be made before the end of July,” Medvedev said.
On Saturday, Zenit beat Krasnodar in Volgograd (4:2) and won the Russian Super Cup for the ninth time.
