IRKUTSK, July 13 Participants of the Irkutsk regional conference branches of the United Russia political party nominated 19 participants in a special military operation for municipal elections, reports the press service of the Irkutsk branch of United Russia.
The XXVIII conference of the Irkutsk regional branch of the political party «United Russia» took place in Irkutsk, at which candidates were nominated for the upcoming elections to local government bodies.
«United Russia is leading 19 participants in a special military operation to the upcoming elections. These are both current deputies and those who are new to politics. Some of them are now in the region, some in zone of the Northern Military District, on a combat mission,” the message says.
SVO member Pavel Bezdenezhnykh, on behalf of his colleagues, thanked the regional branch of the United Russia party and all residents of the Irkutsk region for the humanitarian assistance, constant attention and support they provide to those who are on combat duty.
Secretary of the Irkutsk regional branch of United Russia, Governor of the Irkutsk region Igor Kobzev noted that the party has been growing in the Irkutsk region in recent years with increasing results: in 2022, a historic result was obtained in the mass elections of local governments — the level of support exceeded 74 %; in 2023, a record figure was reached in the elections to the legislative assembly — 35 seats out of 45. He emphasized that the candidates nominated by the party have already confirmed their competence and trust from residents: they have passed the preliminary vote.
On a single voting day, September 8, 2024, 18 mayors, 33 heads of first-level municipalities, and 470 deputies of municipal dumas will be elected in the Irkutsk region.
