
KRASNOYARSK, July 17 Party candidate has become the new head of Kansk «United Russia» Olga Vitman, reports the regional government.
«A meeting of the session of the Kansk City Council was held, at which deputies elected the head of Kansk. According to the voting results, the candidate from the United Russia party, Olga Vitman, won. 20 out of 24 people's representatives voted for her,» the message says.
Previously, Vitman held the position of first deputy head of the Kansk region, and also worked in the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Public Utilities and in the Ministry of Ecology of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. In addition, she was the head of the urban planning department of the administration of Zheleznogorsk.
The Kansk City Hall clarifies that a total of two candidates were presented at the vote. The head of the education department of the Kansk administration, Eduard Borovsky, also competed for the position of mayor.
Olga Vitman will take office on July 22.
Previously, Kansk was headed by Andrey Beresnev. He resigned early in May, despite being re-elected in February for a second term. Beresnev explained on his page on the social network VKontakte that the reason for his resignation was his state of health.
