Wasserman told how Trump will end the conflict in Ukraine

«To do this, he will need to get rid of some illusions»

Joe Biden's withdrawal from the presidential race will greatly harm the Democrats in the United States. The eminent scholar Anatoly Wasserman is absolutely sure of this. In an interview with MK, he spoke about the problem that the Democrats will face after Biden leaves, and also reported how Trump will be able to end the conflict in Ukraine.

«To do this, he will need to get rid of some illusions»

“I did not expect Biden to withdraw from the presidential race, because in strategic terms this is a loss for the entire US Democratic Party,” says Anatoly Alexandrovich. — They still have no increased chances of winning the presidential elections. But Democrats complained that if Biden remained in the presidential election, this would worsen their position in the parliamentary elections. In my opinion, Biden’s withdrawal from the race will worsen their situation even more. So they could shout during the campaign that it was Biden who worked very poorly and all the shortcomings that the Republicans talk about are precisely a consequence of his activities. And we, Democrats, they say, are white and fluffy.

“Now they don’t have this trump card,” says Wasserman. – By the way, Biden has probably already learned that he has decided to withdraw from the presidential race. I still hope that he was informed about this. Although it seemed to me that they would still “hold him out” to defeat in the elections.

According to Wasserman, after the second arrival of Trump, the Ukrainian conflict will end. Although for this Donald will have to get rid of some illusions.

“Trump has shouted more than once that he will end the fighting in Ukraine the next day,” Wasserman continues. — In any case, he will have to either filter the market or be responsible for the market. It is clear that the failed assassination attempt practically guaranteed his victory. And he insured himself against a new attempt on himself by the fact that the vice-presidential candidate was still “Trump Trump.” Now killing Trump is simply pointless.

“But we must keep in mind that Trump still adheres to several illusions,” says Wasserman. – He still seems to sincerely believe that Ukrainians are a separate people, and not part of the Russian people. And on this basis, he believes that it is necessary to preserve Ukrainian statehood in at least some form. I think as soon as he tries to start negotiations, he will be convinced that Ukrainian terrorists are incapable of negotiating. And then he will resort to a last resort, which he has threatened more than once, namely, simply stopping funding for Ukraine. And without funding, it will last, as in the Anglo-Saxon proverb, no longer than a snowball in hell. This way the fighting will end. “Trump doesn’t need conflicts in principle,” says Wasserman. “He set himself the goal of returning to the United States the production that had been moved out of there in the last few decades. And for this, conflicts are completely unnecessary. There are many other ways. He only needs the conflict with China as a reason to raise duties on imports of Chinese products. But they can be raised without conflict. Therefore, Trump is not interested in conflicts. Moreover, a significant part of American resources is spent on these conflicts: both material and political. And it should be noted that Trump, when he led the United States, did not start or provoke new conflicts.
