MOSCOW, July 24. The appeal overturned the verdict in absentia in the case of fakes about the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation against director Ivan Vyrypaev, law enforcement agencies reported.
“The verdict was overturned and sent to court for reconsideration,” said the agency’s interlocutor.
The interlocutor clarified that the Moscow City Court made this decision due to violations during the consideration of the case in the district court.
According to the portal of the courts of general jurisdiction of Moscow, Vyrypaev’s case has already been submitted to the Basmanny District Court.
In December, Vyrypaev was sentenced in absentia to 8 years in a general regime colony, with deprivation of the right to engage in activities related to the administration of websites for a period of 4 years.
The investigation established that from March to December 2022, Vyrypaev publicly disseminated on the Internet under the guise of a reliable false information about the use of the Russian Armed Forces to destroy civilian infrastructure and kill civilians during the Northern Military District.
Since Vyrypaev hid from investigation and trial outside Russia, he was put on the international wanted list.
