A suspect in a car bombing in northern Moscow was detained in Turkey.

ISTANBUL, July 24. The suspect in the car bombing in the north of Moscow was detained in Turkish Bodrum, said the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the republic, Ali Erlikaya.

“Today at 10:30, information was received from the Russian branch of Interpol about the search for a Russian named Evgeny Serebryakov in connection with a terrorist attack in Moscow using a bomb and that he was flying on a Moscow-Bodrum flight. <…> Today he was detained by police in Bodrum,” Erlikaya wrote on the social network X.

A foreign car exploded this morning in a courtyard on Sinyavinskaya Street. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, an object «installed in the car» detonated.

Two people were injured — a husband and wife. One of the versions of what happened is an assassination attempt related to the professional activities of the victim, a source in the security forces reported.
Specialists examined the exploded car and removed fragments using a special robot. They also collected fragments from the adjacent territory and examined cars parked nearby.
A criminal case has been opened, it is being investigated by the 1st Department for Particularly Important Cases of the Moscow Main Directorate of the Investigative Committee (on crimes against the individual and public safety). As FSB Director Alexander Bortnikov reported earlier on Wednesday, the suspect fled to Turkey after committing the crime.
