Sasha Selipanov's Nilu27 supercar will receive a naturally aspirated V12 with a power output of over 1000 hp.

The official premiere of the Nilu27 supercar will take place on August 15 in the USA as part of the Monterey Auto Week, but for now the young company created by Sasha Selipanov and his wife Inna Selipanova, warms up the audience with teasers of the upcoming new product.

Sasha Selipanov is one of the most famous automotive designers in the world, who can be conditionally called our compatriot: he was born in Tbilisi, spent his school years in Moscow, studied automotive design at the Californian ArtCenter College of Design and at the Russian MAMI and Stroganovka. Sasha Selipanov's career path ran through the companies Volkswagen, Lamborghini, Bugatti, Genesis, Koenigsegg and finally reached his own business.

Last year, Sasha and his wife Inna opened the Hardline27 design studio with offices in Los Angeles and Berlin, and Nilu27 is their joint automobile company, the debut model of which will be a mid-size supercar with an analog philosophy and a high-revving naturally aspirated V12 gasoline engine.

The number 27 in the name of the design studio and automobile company refers to the starting number under which many legendary Formula 1 pilots competed, including Gilles Villeneuve, Jean Alesi, Nigel Mansell, Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost. In turn, the name Nilu was formed by merging the names of the Selipanovs' daughters — Nika and Lucia.

It is already clear that the debut supercar Nilu27 will have a stunning naked design with exposed structural elements, doors will open upwards, and the body will be based on a durable carbon fiber monocoque.

Sasha published the first teasers of his supercar in May, and as he gets closer to the premiere, he adds new teasers and some technical details to them. Thus, yesterday it became known that the naturally aspirated V12, being developed for the Nilu27 by the New Zealand company Hartley Engines, will have a displacement of 6.5 liters and a maximum power of over 1000 hp, that is, it will be on par with or even exceed 8.3 -liter naturally aspirated V16 of the latest Bugatti Tourbillon and 4.5-liter naturally aspirated V10 from Cosworth, installed on the Red Bull RB17 track supercar.

You can also understand from the teasers that the New Zealand V12 will spin up to about 13,000 rpm and delight the owner’s ears with a classic formula crescendo. The gearbox, apparently, will be a 7-speed manual, and the instrument panel will be built around a large round dial.

The Nilu27 supercar, of course, will be very expensive and of limited circulation — these are exactly the kind of cars that people love awaits the public that annually gathers for the Monterey Automobile Week and the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance held within its framework, in which Nilu27 will also take part.
