MOSCOW, July 25 Almost $90 billion of foreign aid has entered the budget of Ukraine since February 2022, the country’s Ministry of Finance reported.
«In total, external financing for this period (since February 2022 — ed.) amounts to 89.6 billion US dollars. In 2024, the state budget has already received 16 billion US dollars of international support. Partners have assured that the required volume of external assistance will be provided in full, that is, a total of 38 billion US dollars in 2024,» says a statement published on the website of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine.
In March, the head of the Verkhovna Rada's budget committee, Roksolana Pidlasa, reported that Ukraine had allocated almost half of its $87 billion annual budget to defense spending, but its domestic revenue was only $46 billion. The deficit is expected to grow due to the expected wave of mobilization, as billions will be needed to pay, train and equip conscripts.
At the end of November 2023, Volodymyr Zelensky signed the law on the state budget of Ukraine for 2024 with a deficit of over $43 billion.
