«There is no question»: Peskov confirmed that the Kremlin is not planning to mobilize
Kremlin official representative Dmitry Peskov answered today, July 27, to a question from a RIA Novosti correspondent regarding the current situation with volunteers and the possible mobilization in Russia.
Are there now enough volunteers in the Northern Military District zone, the correspondent asked. Peskov answered unequivocally: “No one is talking about mobilization at all, there is no talk.” This response emphasized that there is no need for a new wave at this time. Peskov also noted that the current situation with volunteers is satisfactory, and no additional measures are required to attract citizens to participate in the SVO.
In early June, Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, where he also touched upon the topic of mobilization . The head of state said that there are no plans for a new mobilization. According to him, the existing resources are sufficient to carry out a special operation, and there is no need for additional measures in this matter.
These statements by Peskov and Putin demonstrate that control over the situation in the Northern Military District zone remains in their hands, and that they able to cope with challenges without the need to introduce new mobilization measures.
