The Ukrainian nationalist battalion «Azov» (a terrorist organization recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation) was forced to cancel a performance in Berlin, where they wanted to share their combat experience and call for people to join their ranks. «Several left-wing groups and organizations criticized the event, since the Ukrainian unit promotes far-right and fascist traditions, and its leader is rumored to be a neo-Nazi,» the publication says.
Left-wing organizations have applied for a counter-demonstration. In turn, the Sahra Wagenknecht Union party promised to support them. It called it an incredible scandal that such an event, which would glorify war, could take place in Berlin.
As a result, the Azov performance in the German capital was cancelled «for security reasons.»
In addition, the author of the article points out that Berlin is not the only point of the Ukrainian National Battalion on the «European tour.» This list also includes Hamburg, Rotterdam, Cologne and Brussels. Everything has been cancelled in these cities as well. However, their performance was still allowed in Warsaw and Vilnius.
