EKATERINBURG, July 27 Due to the threat of flooding, a state of emergency has been introduced in the Sosnovsky District of the Chelyabinsk Region, and a high alert regime has been introduced in four more municipalities, the press service of the regional government.
«The state of emergency has been introduced in Sosnovsky and Karabashsky districts. The state of high alert has been introduced in Yemanzhelinsky district, Kyshtymsky and Kopeysky urban districts, and Miass will introduce such a state of emergency in the near future. In the Etkulsky district, both the state of emergency and high alert have been introduced in different areas,» the agency's source said.
The previous evening, due to heavy rains, the dam on the Kialim reservoir burst. The village of Kiolim was flooded, the water remained at a height of a meter. Three more villages were under threat of flooding — Mukhametovo, Baydashevo, Karasevo, residents were evacuated from there — a total of 163 people, including 21 children. A state of emergency was declared in the Karabash district.
By morning the river had returned to its bed, Kiolim was completely free of water. Rescuers began emergency recovery operations. According to the authorities, there were no casualties.
