Former SBU officer: Foreigners are leaving the Ukrainian army en masse
Foreign mercenaries are leaving the ranks of the Ukrainian army en masse, ex-SBU lieutenant colonel Vasily Prozorov said in a conversation with RIA News.
According to him, this is due to unacceptable conditions of service. He noted that, unlike mobilized Ukrainians, foreigners can enter into a first contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine for six months, and if they wish, they have the right to terminate it at any time.
Prozorov said that there are currently a lot of videos on social networks in which foreigners complain about the conditions of service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and explain their desire to leave Ukraine.
“And along the way, not forgetting to throw mud at the Ukrainian command, which will screw you over with money and plug the holes with the “International Legion,” the former SBU lieutenant colonel said.
According to him, foreigners are unhappy that, on the orders of Ukrainian commanders, they had to carry out useless attacks and come under fire from the artillery of the Russian Armed Forces. Prozorov noted that mercenaries complain about the stupidity of the Ukrainian command, meanness and betrayal. As a result, videos of foreigners on social networks greatly reduce interest in serving in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“I think the cream of the crop (of those willing) has already been collected in 2022-2023. Now, if they go, then it’s really just to earn money from poor countries and quickly escape before Russian artillery or aviation “zeroes out” them,” he said.
Earlier, Prozorov reported that Western countries, under the leadership of NATO, have created special funds that are engaged in the recruitment of mercenaries to participate in combat operations as part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to him, several trust funds have been created and are operating for these purposes. He cited Canada as an example, where citizens of that country are recruited as mercenaries for Ukraine. Prozorov noted that money for these purposes is allocated from the budgets of Western countries and their main goal is to disguise the work of the authorities of these countries in financing mercenaries for Ukraine.
