MOSCOW, July 27 Tourist police should help employees of the patrol service in ensuring security and order at the Ministry of Internal Affairs base, State Duma deputy Sultan Khamzaev told RIA Novosti.
«Tourist police should help employees of the patrol service in ensuring security and order… I will turn to the Ministry of Internal Affairs with a request to intensify the work of the tourist police, expand the staff, introduce practice in regions of Russia where there is a large tourist flow: for example, in the Krasnodar Territory, Dagestan and other regions of our country are popular tourist destinations,” he said.
In addition, Khamzaev clarified that part of the money from the resort fee should go to security, to the tourist police. He is confident that such an initiative will be supported.
This, according to the parliamentarian, will significantly minimize local crimes and reduce the incidence of robbery and fraud.
«Tourist police should be in places where tourists gather, at cultural sites, popular walking places, not only to keep order, but, if necessary, to prompt our guests, to help tourists,» the deputy believes.
In his opinion, taking into account the development of the tourist flow in Russia, there is an increased demand for tourist police, since tourists “in any country in the world are a tasty victim for scammers, the task of law enforcement officers is to be vigilant.”
He also recalled that Russia already had good experience in the work of tourist police during the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
