
SEVASTOPOL, July 30 The first visitors to the new museum and park complex «New Chersonesus» in Sevastopol praised the work done as fantastic and amazing.
The complex opened for visitors for the first time on Tuesday at 8:00. It began operating in test mode, but visitors can walk around the entire territory. Of the three main museums, the Crimea and Novorossiya Museum opened at 10:00, the other museums will open later. To enter, you need to register on the website khersones.rf for a certain time, visiting the complex is free. A fee will be charged for entry to the museums, while benefits have been introduced for residents of Crimea and Sevastopol. 
Since the opening of «New Chersonesus» there have been many people here — excursions are held about the history of ancient Chersonesus, about the baptism of Prince Vladimir and Rus, about the creation of the Tauride province and Novorossiya, about the defense of Sevastopol during the Crimean War and during the Great Patriotic War.
People speak admiringly of New Chersonesus. «What I see is fantastic. I know old Chersonesus, but what has been done today by our craftsmen, and most importantly, by our president, because he was the initiator of the creation of this complex, is amazing,» said Olga, a resident of Sevastopol. 
Kerch resident Elena said that she came to Sevastopol especially in advance to get to the «New Chersonesus» on the very first day. «I am very impressed. It is very beautiful here. Later I will come here again to look at everything more carefully,» she said.
The «New Chersonesus» museum complex, which includes three museums dedicated to Christianity, antiquity and Byzantium, as well as Crimea and Novorossiya, parks and fountains, the Geroon River with embankments and lakes, a reconstructed quarter of ancient Chersonesus, was built next to the historical Chersonesus in less than 2 years. The complex is designed for simultaneous visits of 50 thousand people, but for now it will operate in test mode. On July 28, a solemn ceremony of consecration of the complex was held, on this day a large religious procession took place, and the St. Vladimir Cathedral was opened after restoration. On the same day, a new monument to the baptizer of Rus, Prince Vladimir, was unveiled.
