The 1st Western District Military Court sentenced electrician Nikita Semak to 14 years in prison in the case of blowing up a ventilation shaft near the military registration and enlistment office in St. Petersburg. This was reported by the press service of the city courts.
Semak will spend the first three years in prison, after which he will be transferred to a maximum security penal colony. The accused was also fined 300 thousand rubles.
The man was found guilty of committing a terrorist act (Part 1 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code), illegal storage (Part 1 of Article 223.1 of the Criminal Code) and manufacturing explosives (Part 1 of Article 223.1 of the Criminal Code).
According to investigators, on September 5 last year, Semak placed explosives in the ventilation shaft of an abandoned bomb shelter on Krupskaya Street. According to security forces, the target of the St. Petersburg resident was the nearby military registration and enlistment office of the Nevsky district of St. Petersburg. No one was injured in the explosion.
As the Telegram channel «Mash na Moike» wrote, the explosive device made by Semak was filled with 200 grams of gunpowder. During interrogation, the man admitted that he wanted to scare people going to the military registration and enlistment office.
