Audi continues to expand its range of electric models: the completely new A6 e-tron family has been presented, sales will begin in September at a price of 75,600 euros.
The Audi A6 e-tron is not a replacement, but an electric alternative to the current «hydrocarbon» Audi A6 family on the MLB Evo platform, which, however, does not have long to live — it will soon be replaced by a new «hydrocarbon» Audi A7 family. At Audi, we recall, electric models now have even indexes, «hydrocarbon» (including hybrid) — odd. At the same time, the new «six» still has the e-tron prefix, indicating for greater clarity that the power plant here is electric.

The Audi A6 e-tron is based on a modular PPE (Premium Platform Electric) platform with an 800-volt electrical architecture, which also underpins the new Porsche Macan and Audi Q6 e-tron that debuted earlier this year, the latter of which has a stretched version for China. market. The Audi A6 e-tron for China is also extended, but later, and today global versions of the model are presented in liftback and station wagon bodies, which Audi traditionally designates as Sportback and Avant, respectively.

The liftback and station wagon differ in height — 1487 and 1527 mm, respectively, and their other key dimensions are the same: overall length — 4928 mm, width — 1923 mm, wheelbase — 2946 mm. Thanks to the flat bottom and other aerodynamic tricks, the cx coefficient of the liftback is 0.21, and that of the station wagon is 0.24. The front suspension is double wishbone, the rear is multi-link. The base version has a spring suspension, but the pictures show the optional adaptive air suspension. The standard wheel size is from 19 to 21 inches. The matrix structure of the headlights and lights allows you to customize the design of the light pattern through the menu of the MMI multimedia system — this entertainment has already become common place for new Audi models.

The interior of the Audi A6 e-tron from the driver's seat is not much different from the interior of the platform-sharing crossover Audi Q6 e-tron: the bulky three-screen front panel can be additionally visually weighted by side screens that display images from the external rear-view cameras, but fortunately this is an option — the «base» includes ordinary mirrors. The instrument screen is 11.9 inches, the multimedia screen is 14.5 inches, and the entertainment screen for the front passenger is 10.9 inches. An augmented reality projection screen on the windshield is offered as an option. Another interesting option is a panoramic glass roof with a layer of liquid crystals built into it, they allow you to change the degree of transparency. The top 830-watt Bang & Olufsen audio system has 20 speakers, four of which are built into the headrests of the front seats. The main trunk volume is 502 liters, with the rear seatbacks folded down on the liftback it increases to 1,330 liters, on the station wagon – to 1,422 liters. There is a small additional trunk in the front, which is convenient for storing the charging cable.

When sales start in September, the Audi A6 e-tron will be available in two versions: the A6 e-tron performance and the S6 e-tron, both equipped with a 100 kWh battery (of which 94.9 kWh are available to the consumer). The maximum charging power of the battery is 270 kW, and it can be charged from 10% to 80% in 21 minutes.
The A6 e-tron performance version has a single electric motor on the rear axle, its peak power is 270 kW (367 hp), acceleration to 100 km/h takes 5.4 s, the maximum speed is 210 km/h, the liftback can travel up to 756 km on one charge according to the WLTP cycle, the station wagon — up to 720 km.

The sports version of the S6 e-tron is twin-engine and all-wheel drive, the maximum total power of its power plant is 405 kW (551 hp), acceleration to 100 km/h takes 3.9 seconds, maximum speed is 240 km/h, range on one charge — up to 675 km for the liftback and up to 647 km for the station wagon.
Later, the Audi A6 e-tron range will be supplemented by the initial single-engine version with a battery capacity of 83 kWh and the top-end all-wheel drive RS6 e -tron.
